The Middle East at its location at the intersection of three zoogeographic regions endows a vast landscape with a striking diversity of habitats and fauna and flora with many endemic species. Zoology in the Middle East is the only scientific journal covering the whole range of zoology in this unique region of the world and helps further the understanding of the Middle East as a zoogeographical unit. The journal aims at improving the interchange of knowledge and ideas between specialists on different subjects and taxa.

The journal Zoomorphology publishes original research papers based on morphological investigation of invertebrates and vertebrates and reviews designed as comparative surveys summarizing current knowledge from an evolutionary perspective. Coverage spans the macroscopic, microscopic and ultrastructural levels, including embryological studies. The journal places special emphasis on: Comparison - Studies comparing morphological and anatomical structures to unravel homologies Function - Studies relating structure and function Integration - Studies on the relation between structural-functional systems of animals and their general biology Evolution - Studies on the evolution of morphological and anatomical structures on the basis of sound phylogenies Development - Studies on the spatiotemporal formation of morphological and anatomical structures

Zoonoses and Public Health brings together veterinary and human health researchers and policy-makers by providing a venue for publishing integrated and global approaches to zoonoses and public health. The Editors will consider papers that focus on timely collaborative and multi-disciplinary research in zoonoses and public health. This journal provides rapid publication of original papers, reviews, and potential discussion papers embracing this collaborative spirit. Papers should advance the scientific knowledge of the sources, transmission, prevention and control of zoonoses and be authored by scientists with expertise in areas such as microbiology, virology, parasitology and epidemiology. Articles that incorporate recent data into new methods, applications, or approaches (e.g. statistical modeling) which enhance public health are strongly encouraged.

Zoosystematics and Evolution, formerly Mitteilungen aus dem Museum fur Naturkunde in Berlin, Zoologische Reihe - is an international, peer-reviewed life science journal devoted to whole-organism biology. It publishes original research and review articles in the field of Metazoan taxonomy, biosystematics, evolution, morphology, development and biogeography at all taxonomic levels. Its scope encompasses primary information from collection-related research, taxonomic descriptions and discoveries, revisions, annotated type catalogues, aspects of the history of science, and contributions on new methods and principles of systematics. Articles whose main topic is ecology, functional anatomy, physiology, or ethology are only acceptable when of systematic or evolutionary relevance and perspective. Zootaxa is a peer-reviewed international journal for rapid publication of high quality papers on any aspect of systematic zoology, with a preference for large taxonomic works such as monographs and revisions. Zootaxa considers papers on all animal taxa, both living and fossil, and especially encourages descriptions of new taxa. All types of taxonomic papers are considered, including theories and methods of systematics and phylogeny, taxonomic monographs, revisions and reviews, catalogues/checklists, biographies and bibliographies, identification guides, analysis of characters, phylogenetic relationships and zoogeographical patterns of distribution, descriptions of taxa, and nomenclature. Open access publishing option is strongly encouraged for authors with research grants and other funds. For those without grants/funds, all accepted manuscripts will be published but access is secured for subscribers only. All manuscripts will be subjected to peer review before acceptance.
