Wave Motion

ISSN: 0165-2125eISSN: 1878-433X

Wave Motion is devoted to the cross fertilization of ideas, and to stimulating interaction between workers in various research areas in which wave propagation phenomena play a dominant role. The description and analysis of wave propagation phenomena provides a unifying thread connecting diverse areas of engineering and the physical sciences such as acoustics, optics, geophysics, seismology, electromagnetic theory, solid and fluid mechanics. The journal publishes papers on analytical, numerical and experimental methods. Papers that address fundamentally new topics in wave phenomena or develop wave propagation methods for solving direct and inverse problems are of interest to the journal.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Waves in Random and Complex Media

ISSN: 1745-5030eISSN: 1745-5049

Waves in Random and Complex Media (formerly Waves in Random Media) is a broad interdisciplinary journal that reports theoretical, applied and experimental research related to any wave phenomena. The Journal is relevant to scientists and engineers working in the field of wave propagation, scattering and imaging in random or complex media. Papers on theoretical developments, experimental results and analytical/numerical studies are considered for publication as well as deterministic problems when also linked to random or complex media. Topics include studies of waves in random and/or complex media, such as tissue or metamaterials, nonlinear, chaotic or fractal media, as well as relevant inverse problems.Examples are: Propagation, diffraction of classical waves Quantum and nonlinear effects in complex media Scattering and inverse scattering, backscattering enhancement, multiple scattering, rough surface and volume scattering Surface waves and surface excitation, including plasmonics Statistical properties of waves Electromagnetics of metamaterials and photonic bandgap structures Examples of specific applications include optical properties of photonic crystals, applications of microwaves to remote sensing (e.g. FOPEN) amd medical imaging. All published research articles in Waves in Random and Complex Media have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by at least two expert referees.Taylor & Francis makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of all the information (the 8220;Content8221;) contained in its publications. However, Taylor & Francis and its agents and licensors make no representations or warranties whatsoever as to the accuracy, completeness or suitability for any purpose of the Content and disclaim all such representations and warranties whether express or implied to the maximum extent permitted by law. Wear: An International Journal on the Science and Technology of Friction, Lubrication and Wear

ISSN: 0043-1648eISSN: 1873-2577

This international journal is dedicated to the rapid publication of high quality papers on the important subjects of wear and friction, together with papers on closely related aspects of lubrication, contact phenomena or surface characterization. The scope includes all aspects of physics, chemistry, materials science and mechanical engineering which relate directly to the subjects of wear and friction; papers may approach the subject from a fundamental or technological viewpoint.Thorough refereeing of all papers, in accordance with normal procedures for international journals in science and engineering, and with a specific focus on the novelty and signficance of the work presented, ensures that Wear is an international forum of high quality for multidisciplinary communications on topics which include:• The fundamental understanding of wear and frictional phenomena, including nanometre and atomic scale aspects of tribology;• Interactions between chemical processes (e.g. corrosion) and wear, and chemical aspects of lubrication (e.g. boundary lubrication);• Design and materials selection for the control of wear and friction;• Tribology of natural biological and artificial implanted materials;• Contact phenomena in the context of friction and wear;• New materials and their tribological behaviour;• Wear and friction in cutting and forming processes;• Lubricants and mechanisms of lubrication in the context of wear and friction control;• Topics in surface physics and chemistry related to wear and friction. The following types of manuscripts on all topics within the scope of the journal are welcomed:• Full-length papers containing original research work.• Short Communications giving a complete description of a limited investigation.• Reviews (with the prior approval of the Editor-in-Chief).

Weather

ISSN: 0043-1656eISSN: 1477-8696

The aim of Weather is to act as a bridge between the interests of those having a professional and a general interest in the weather, as well as between meteorologists and others working in related sciences such as climatology, hydrology and geography. Articles and regular features are written for a wide range of readers, from professional meteorologists to amateur weather observers. While technical language and mathematical content are kept to a minimum, Weather also seeks to inform and to give readers an opportunity to update their subject knowledge. Weather is also the 'house journal' of the Society and seeks to keep the reader up-to-date with Society news and includes meeting and conference reports, a Readers' Forum series and occasional Viewpoint articles. Photographs of weather events are an important feature of the journal and the Weather Image feature provides an opportunity to analyse a satellite image or photograph. Weather Log is a summary of the weather of each month by means of meteorological data and weather maps.

Weather and Climate Dynamics

eISSN: 2698-4016
DOAJ Logo

Weather and Climate Dynamics (WCD) is a not-for-profit international scientific journal dedicated to the publication and public discussion of high-quality research on dynamical processes in the atmosphere. It represents a timely effort to establish a seamless perspective on atmospheric flows, on scales from weather to climate (minutes to decades). The scope of the journal includes the following: the dynamics of extreme weather events (case studies and climatological analyses); weather system dynamics in tropical, midlatitude and polar regions; interactions of atmospheric flows with cloud physics and/or radiation; links between the atmospheric water cycle and weather systems; tropical-extratropical and midlatitude-polar interactions; atmospheric teleconnections and stratosphere-troposphere coupling; boundary-layer dynamics and coupling to land, ocean and ice; atmospheric variability and predictability on time scales from minutes to decades; storm track and Hadley cell dynamics; role of atmospheric dynamics in paleoclimate and climate change projections; and other aspects of weather and climate dynamics. Theoretical studies, idealized numerical studies, full-physics numerical studies, and diagnostic studies using (re)analysis and/or observational data are welcome.
