Welcome to the University of Exeter Journal Guide

The Journal Guide helps you as a researcher at University of Exeter to identify open access options when publishing in different journals. Search by journal title, keywords or ISSN to discover journals in your research area. Check if journals are included in publisher agreements (discounts, or no APCs).

This is a new tool, we’d love your feedback: on this Microsoft form.

Transgenic Research

ISSN: 0962-8819eISSN: 1573-9368

Transgenic Research publishes research in transgenic higher organisms including their production, properties resulting from the transgenic state, use as experimental tools, exploitation and application, and environmental impact. The journal bridges the gap between fundamental and applied science in molecular biology and biotechnology.
Coverage includes studies on transgenic animals and plants in which insertion of transgenes including modification of endogenous genes, by any route or vehicle, has been used to confer novel metabolic or developmental properties on the organism. Investigations into the physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, development, genomics, genetics, behaviour and exploitation of such transgenic organisms are also covered. Transgenic Research provides a valuable forum for the cross-fertilization of ideas and techniques in all areas of transgenic technology from fungi to higher eukaryotic organisms.

Transition Studies Review

ISSN: 1614-4007eISSN: 1614-4015

Transition Studies Network was founded in 2002 as CEEUN-Central Eastern European
University Cooperation, with the aim to connect a group of experts and university faculty
in a program of cooperation devoted to research programs and specialized international
postgraduate and doctoral courses. The Network has grown fast and soon after the scientific
“voice” had been established with the Journal Transition Studies Review, published by Spring
Wien-New York. At the beginning, it was focusing on transition in Central and Southeast
Europe, interpreting CEEUN purely as European network. Soon later, the EU enlargement
of the aims and scope to Russia, Ukraine, Caucasus, the Black Sea and Mediterranean
regions was achieved. From 2005, a worldwide regional approach looking to Asia,
Latin America, Eurasia and Great Middle East has been implemented. To the previous
CEEUN, TSN-Transition Studies Network had been taking the heritage and the “aims and
scope” were recently better integrated.Transition Studies Network has progressively involved in the last ten years more than 400
internationally well known members and 95 university departments, institutes and research
centres and is engaged in many areas and programs. The scientifi c interests and fi elds are
covering: Europe and the World, future approach to EU enlargement, the global governance
economic, fi nancial and policy framework and impact, where it focuses especially on growth
theories, innovation and human capital, main advanced industrial sectors technologies,
investments, international affairs, foreign policy choices and security, monetary policy and
main currency areas, banking and insurance, development and area studies, social policies,
environment and climate, culture and society, juridical and law studies, regional approach to
global governance, peculiarities and critical challenges. The future, transition to open economy and institutional reforms, political and strategic issues
and challenges, governance, European, Mediterranean, Asia-Pacifi c, Middle Eastern, Latin
America and Africa perspectives are key topics of this highranking journal. The Transatlantic
and Asia-Pacifi c relations, security and international order represent, together with applied
regional studies, another cornerstone of the Network’s activity and of Transition Studies
Review’s contents, where two other Journals will dedicated: the Journal of Global Policy and
Governance, based in Shanghai and in Rome: the International Journal of Euro Mediterranean
Studies based in Portorož, Slovenia. The Network is deeply committed to a wide range of transition
issues related to quantitative modeling and tools to analyzing and researching economic,
fi nancial, strategic studies, social, cultural, environmental, juridical main issues.

Transitional Waters Bulletin

eISSN: 1825-229X

The journal aims at a large, multidisciplinary audience and is dedicated to rapidly publishing innovative results of field and laboratory experiments, new techniques and creative ideas and theoretical developments on all aspects of the ecology and conservation of river mouth ecosystems, lagoons, coastal lakes and brackish wetlands. Theoretical, analytical, experimental, empirical, historical, descriptive approaches are all included, from any field and organization level of interest in ecology (i.e., from ecophysiology and ecotoxicology to ecosystem and landscape ecology). Papers reporting ecological research on all varieties of organisms are welcome. Transitional Waters Bulletin also strongly encourages the submission of technical papers, reporting methodological innovations or new technical developments in the fields of more general interest. The journal provides a Forum in which all aspects of monitoring and conservation of transitional ecosystem health and of sustainable and adaptive management of the natural heritage of transitional landscapes, can be presented and discussed, including, also, historical and socio-ecological perspectives.. Short research or conceptual papers and letters that are well grounded in ecological theory and have broad implications for environmental policy and resource management are well suited for the publication in the Forum section.

Translation

ISSN: 2169-074XeISSN: 2169-0731

Aims & Scope: Translation of mRNA into protein is a central step in the gene expression pathway. It is tightly controlled to provide cells with a rapid, robust and highly specific means to respond to changes in its microenvironment. Pathological regulation of translation occurs in many diseases including diabetes, heart failure and cancer. Agents to correct aberrant translation are being actively developed.

Translation is planned as a unique peer-reviewed, high-profile journal with a broad international audience. The launch of this journal reflects the tremendous progress in the field of translation over the past decade.

Translation will cover two major areas:

  • Biochemistry and basic cell biology - structure, function and regulation of the translational apparatus in prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells;
  • Translational control in biology and medicine - molecular and systems-level studies of translation across the entire spectrum of development and function of multicellular organisms and human health and disease.
We encourage reports of advances in cell free systems, in vitro, in vivo and in silico.

Translation welcomes submission of initial reports of novel agents that modulate translation, significant methodological advances and high quality descriptions of novel phenomena.

The journal will publish original research articles, brief reports, reviews, commentaries and meeting reports. All submissions will be rapidly screened for suitability by a member of the editorial board prior to peer-review, and only those meeting the highest standards of scientific merit will be accepted for publication.
