Progress in Particle and Nuclear Physics

ISSN: 0146-6410eISSN: 1873-2224
Taking the format of four issues per year, the journal aims to discuss new developments in the field at a level suitable for the general nuclear and particle physicist and also, in greater technical depth, to explore the most important advances in these areas. Although the majority of the articles will be in one or other of the fields of the title of the series, a particular effort is made to treat topics of an interface type for which both particle and nuclear physics are important, in particular such matters as the role of mesons, isobars and quarks in nuclear structure and the use of complex nuclei for probing fundamental particle symmetries. Other topics such as the application of nuclear physics in the medical and archaeological fields will also be treated from time to time. Astrophysicists, too, will be particularly interested in the http://www.journals.elsevier.com/progress-in-particle-and-nuclear-physics/editorial-board/Editor's inclusion of articles on nucleo-genesis and related matters.

Progress in Physical Geography

ISSN: 0309-1333eISSN: 1477-0296

Progress in Physical Geography is an international journal, encompassing an interdisciplinary approach incorporating the latest developments and debates within Physical Geography and interrelated fields across the Earth, Biological and Ecological System Sciences. Contributions which review progress to date; which blend review material with new and original findings; or which introduce material, methods or techniques at the forefront of current knowledge, while setting directions for future work are welcomed. Authors need not be uncritically exhaustive in synthesizing research on a particular topic, but should concentrate on what they consider to be the most promising recent productive trends and developments which are likely to be transformative. They should further aim at the widest possible international coverage and should consider the relevance of tangential or parallel developments to their fields. In addition, authors are encouraged to evaluate the general significance of research to date, including practical and policy applications where relevant.

Progress in Solid State Chemistry

ISSN: 0079-6786eISSN: 1873-1643

Progress in Solid State Chemistry presents a chemical view of the solid state by providing up-to-date critical reviews written by acknowledged authorities in the field. It also publishes surveys of research progress and specialized articles devoted to summarizing particular recent developments. The aim is to address the need brought about by the literature on the chemistry of the solid state being widely dispersed, making it difficult to obtain a broad and unified assessment of the present state of knowledge. Special emphasis is given to relating physical properties and structural chemistry. Whereas structural chemistry at one time was concerned mostly with perfect solids, most activity focused upon understanding of solid properties focuses on imperfections. Entities such as vacancies, dislocations, and positive holes, which have no independent existence outside the solid itself, are of prime importance in modern solid state chemistry. The reviews published in Progress in Solid State Chemistry emphasize critical evaluation of the field, along with indications of current problems and future directions. Papers are not intended to be bibliographic in nature but rather to inform a broad range of readers in an inherently multidisciplinary field by providing expert treatises oriented both towards specialists in different areas of the solid state and towards nonspecialists. The authorship is international, and the subject matter will be of interest to chemists, materials scientists, physicists, metallurgists, crystallographers, ceramists, and engineers interested in the solid state.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more.
