Contributions are invited on all aspects of the research, development and applications of the science and technology of measurement and instrumentation. Versita was established in 2001 as Central European Science Journals by Jacek Ciesielski. A graduate of the London School of Economics and the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management, Ciesielski has worked as a journalist, private entrepreneur, and the general manager of local subsidiaries of global corporations Hasbro and Fuji Photo Film.

Subject coverageWith 12 issues per year, Measurement Science and Technology publishes articles on new measurement techniques and associated instrumentation. Papers submitted to MST that describe experiments must represent an advance in measurement science or measurement technique rather than the application of established experimental technique. Authors must make this novel aspect clear, bearing in mind the multidisciplinary readership of the journal. Subject coverage includes the theory, practice and application of measurement in physics, chemistry, engineering and the environmental and life sciences from inception to commercial exploitation.Publications in the journal should emphasise the novelty of reported methods and give possible applications.

Measurement Techniques contains articles of interest to all who are engaged in the study and application of fundamental measurements.Coverage includes: general problems of metrology; Uniformity of measurement results; Measurement standards and methods; New techniques in measurement: linear, mechanical, electromagnetic, optical, time and frequency, thermo-technical, ionising radiations and more. The journal Measurement Techniques is a translation of the peer reviewed Russian journals: Izmeritel'naya Tekhnika and selected articles from Metrologiya. Both original Russian journals are publications of Gosstandart of Russia, the All-Russia Scientific-Research Institute for Optical-Physical Measurements, the Metrological Academy of Russia, the D.I.Mendeleev All-Russia Scientific-Research Instritute of Metrology, the All-Russia Scientific-Research Institute for Physical-Technical and Radiotechnical Measurements and the Ural Scientific-Research Institute of Metrology.

The articles in Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development (MEC) range from theoretical and other problems of the measurement specialist to those directed to the administrator, the counselor, or the personnel worker--in schools and colleges, public and private agencies, business, industry, and government. Measurement in Physical Education and Exercise Science (MPEES) covers a wide variety of subjects in the area of measurement research in physical education and exercise science. Measurement is devoted to the interdisciplinary study of measurement in the human sciences. Each issue of the journal features a focus article, along with commentaries that embody dialogue and debate across multiple perspectives. The journal’s overarching theme is to promote the development, critique, and enrichment of the concepts and practices of measurement. Through peer commentary and authors’responses, Measurement provides an opportunity for discussion that is largely unavailable outside the specific authors and reviewers of a particular manuscript.

The focus articles (which may be single papers or sets of linked papers) address important issues in the field, and may be in one of the following genres:

• a report and/or discussion of empirical research with a broader scope and/or implication than found in other measurement-associated journals;
• a significant theoretical article that systematizes or gives new perspectives on a body of theory, research, and/or practice in measurement;
• a novel interpretation, synthesis, or critique of measurement work;
• a summary and commentary on a field of application of measurement that either is a significant contribution to measurement in that field, or which contains an important message for measurement work in general;
• a rigorous, evidence-based critique of measurement theory and practices from outside the discipline, or from within measurement.

This journal is intended for social scientists with an interest in the study of measurement, and its theory, application, and criticism, including psychometricians, sociometricians, mathematical psychologists, clinical psychologists, educational curriculum developers, policy researchers, educational and psychological test developers and assessment designers, and medical and public health professionals.
